一、比赛主题
2018 IFFTI学生设计比赛主题为“融合”，包括:

二、主题说明
随着人类文明的发展，科学与技术为人类提供了知识和工具在丰富多彩的世界中去了解、评价和探索新的可能。““融合”在时尚中意味着结合多样且变化的概念、技术和材料以一种创新的方式去实现所期望的效果。基于过去、现在与未来的融合，我们期待并思考时尚将会如何呈现。
我们可以通过时尚发展规则、融合设计领域里东方和西方的思想和审美，发现时装中的传统与现代设计，探索独特或具有未来的风格，并应用先进科技实现设计创新。所有来自生命与自然的活力和精神的融合可以促使我们向前推动时尚产业发展并探究融合的力量。
传统与现代、技术与艺术、过去与未来、全球化与多样化、复古与时尚、寻常材料与创新设计，所有这些的相互融合才使我们的生活丰富多样。时尚是一种无言的表达，所以我们需要结合这些不同因素，通过融合的方式去发展和创造具有超前的新形式的时尚。
三、参赛资格
比赛面向IFFTI 联盟院校的学生本科和研究生，学生包含在校学生以及已毕业且未达一年的学生
• 参赛者必须提交原创作品
• 参赛者必须提交一套服装
• 无申请费用
• 不接收团队参赛
四、奖项
颁奖仪式将于2018年4月12日晚在东华大学举办的晚宴上举行。IFFTI以及其他组织机构会授予比赛优胜者的奖项如下:
• 一等奖（1名）:人民币 20,000 (税前) 和证书.
• 二等奖（2名）:人民币10,000 (税前) 和证书.
• 三等奖（3名）:人民币5,000 (税前) 和证书.
奖金为税前金额，授予时会扣除相应税额
五、第一轮递交
• 投稿开始:2017年5月20日
• 投稿截止: 2017年11月30日
• 入选通知: 2018年1月20日
六、第二轮递交 (入选者)
• 邮寄：所有作品实物务必于2018年3月20日之前邮寄到达
• 入选作品展览（评选日期）: 2018年4月9日至10日
• 入选作品走秀：2018年4月12日
• 作品获奖公布：2018 年4月12日晚宴

IFFTI Design Competition 2018: Fusion

Donghua University will host a design competition entitled “Fusion” for the students of IFFTI (International Foundation of Fashion Technology Institutes) member institutions at the 2018 IFFTI Annual Conference. This competition will be held at College of Fashion and Design, Donghua University, Shanghai, China from April 9-13, 2018.
I. Competition Theme
The theme of 2018 IFFTI Student Design Competition is “Fusion” which including:
· Design exhibition: April 9-10, 2018
· Runway show: April 12, 2018
The awards of design competition will be announced on April 12, 2018
II. Interpretation of Theme
With the development of human civilization, science and technology provide people with the knowledge and tools to understand, evaluate and explore new possibilities in a diverse world. Fusion in fashion means joining diverse and varying concepts, techniques and materials to achieve the desired look in an innovative way. We are wondering how fashion will be in the future based on the fusion from past, present and future.
We can discover traditional and modern designs in fashion, explore unique and futuristic styles by using developing rule, integrate Eastern and Western thoughts and aesthetics in design, and apply the advanced technologies for design innovation. All the integrated vitality and spirit from nature and life could encourage us to move forward to develop in the fashion industry and explore the power of fusion.
Tradition and modern, technology and art, past and future, globalization and diversification, vintage and vogue, ordinary material and novel design, all of them are integrated with each other to enrich our life. Fashion is the expressionless form of expression, so we need to integrate all these factors to develop and create pioneering new forms of fashion by means of fusion.
III. Eligibility
The competition is open to undergraduate as well as graduate students. Here “students” refer to both current students and those who have graduated for less than one year. Please note that only students belonging to IFFTI Member Institutions are qualified to apply.
· Candidates must submit their original work.
· Each candidate should submit 1 outfit.
· No application fees are involved.
· Team participation is not accepted.
IV. Awards
The awards ceremony will take place on the evening of 12 April 2018 during the banquet hosted by Donghua University. The winners of the competition will receive following awards sponsored by IFFTI and other organizations:
· One First Prize (20,000RMB and Certificate)
· Two Second Prizes (10,000RMB and Certificate)
· Three Third Prizes (5,000RMB and Certificate)
Above scholarships are pre-tax, and tax will be deducted when awarded.
V. Round 1 Submission
· Call for submission: May 20, 2017
· Submission deadline: November 30, 2017
· Announcement of acceptance: January 20, 2018
VI. Round 2 Submission (For Finalists)
· Shipping and delivery: All packages should arrive at College of Fashion and Design, Donghua University, Shanghai on or before March 20, 2018
· Selected works exhibition (judging period): April 9-10, 2018
· Selected works runway show: April 12, 2018
· Awards announcements: April 12, 2018 at farewell banquet
